Cryptocorynes

Crypts, as the are commonly called, are an aquarium staple. There are many varieties, but they all require nutrient-rich substrate and relatively low to moderate light. The primary means of propagation is via runners near the root base, hence the 'clumping' forms. Once established this is a very hardy, low-maintenance plant.
